Abstract
This report gives an overview of the Workshop on Directions in Software Engineering Environments WoDiSEE 2004) held at the 26th International Conference on Software Engineering (ICSE 2004). The goal of this workshop was to bring together researchers and practitioners with an interest in developing, extending, deploying and using software engineering tools. The workshop provided an interactive forum for the exchange of ideas and discussion about current research and future trends in software engineering environment research and development. The workshop proceedings contain fourteen short papers, giving a snapshot of current research in this area, which provided the framework for presentations at the workshop. This report summarises the presentations given at the workshop and the discussions that took place.
