ABSTRACT

The absence of CASE tools for software-development of distributed cooperative systems is the major roadblock to effective use of concurrent processing. This paper presents a manufacturing engineering application, a concurrent cooperative processing model of this application, and the Server Network Generator (SNG) CASE tool that was used to design and implement it as a distributed software system in APL2, using inter-user shared variables. The application is a Japanese manufacturing control strategy called the "Kanban System."
