CLEARFACE: TRANSLUCENT MULTIUSER INTERFACE FOR TEAM WORKSTATION

Published:01 October 1991Publication History

Abstract

In order to provide distributed users with a "seamless" shared workspace, we designed "TeamWorkStation (TWS)" [Ishii90]. The shared screen supports a shared drawing window and face windows (Fig. 1). Through the experimental use of TWS, we found the most serious problem is the smallness of the shared screen space. Because of the limitation of screen size, it is very hard to place all face windows of the group members on one screen together with a shared drawing window large enough for effective use.
