Before and after evaluation of highway ITS based infrastructure project

Abstract

The effect of the highway ITS-based infrastructure system to the road users was evaluated through the preliminary evaluation conducted before the system and follow-up evaluation after the system is introduced. As a result of qualitative analysis, it's difficult to identify the specific effect of the system because of low level of use and congestion over entire section, but the effect of the system would possibly be measured through the speed variation on contour map. As a result of qualitative analysis through the survey, it's necessary to provide the specific information on bypass, and particularly in the section for study, a specific strategy for using VMS is needed, and the strategy for effectively providing information in collaboration with neighboring expressway and Ulsan and Busan needs to be developed.
