Abstract

On behalf of the organising committee we would like to welcome you to this 8th edition of the International Conference on Mobile and Ubiquitous Multimedia, held in Cambridge, UK on 22-25 November 2009.

The goal of the conference is to bring together mobile systems, ubiquitous computing and multimedia experts. This year we received 56 research paper submissions around this topic. A rigorous review process was followed with each paper receiving three reviews from international experts. Based upon this process, thirteen long and six short papers were selected to appear in these proceedings and be presented at the conference.

The papers cover a range of topics related to the key issues including mobile systems and architectures, location awareness and mobile multimedia. We hope that these papers will form the basis of lively discussion at the conference.
