A graphical query language for an XPDL repository

Published: 26 October 2010 Publication History

Abstract

Business processes (BPs) are among the most valuable assets of an organization. Knowledge management and best practices can be supported by a repository for the management, sharing and retrieval of business processes in a company or among collaborating organizations. To be effective the repository needs to provide an efficient, expressive and user-friendly query mechanism. This demo paper illustrates a BP retrieval system that leverages ORYX BP editor, with XQuery capabilities. A BP a graphical query may be expressed in using BPMN, and posed against a XPDL repository of BPs in using XQuery.
