ABSTRACT
This demonstration presents an application for real-time joint angle measurement using the Shimmer wireless sensor platform. The application allows for the assessment and analysis of joint kinematics, which can be of benefit to medical professionals in the diagnosis and monitoring of joint disorders. This demonstration focuses on knee joint assessment.

Sensor-based dead-reckoning for indoor positioning
This paper presents a method of indoor position determination using an accelerometer, compass and gyroscope which are typically available in devices such as smart phones. The method makes use of measurements from such a device worn on the body, such as ...
Single-Joint Angle Computation using Inertial Sensors with Feedback on Smartphone
AIR '21: Proceedings of the 2021 5th International Conference on Advances in RoboticsHuman joint kinematics is an important biomarker of the joint and muscles’ strength responsible for its actuation. Restriction to joint movement directly affects the limb’s interaction with its environment and puts other joints at risk of developing ...
Support vector machines for young and older gait classification using inertial sensor kinematics at minimum toe clearance
BodyNets '15: Proceedings of the 10th EAI International Conference on Body Area NetworksThe present study investigates the inertial sensor kinematics obtained at a critical toe-control event, Minimum Toe Clearance (MTC), to classify different age groups. Fourteen young and fourteen older adults performed treadmill walking at their ...
