ABSTRACT
We introduce four short films to analyse, display and make sense of mobile experience and mobile context for design purposes. The films were scripted and produced on the basis of diary and interview data looking at mobile texting and mobile social media use. We experience the making of the films as a way to understand, frame and focus the design space for researchers and designers. We reflect on our own process of making these short films and discuss the value of such an approach for mobile interaction design.

Discovering design drivers for mobile media solutions
CHI EA '06: CHI '06 Extended Abstracts on Human Factors in Computing SystemsWe conducted user studies in 2000 and 2004 into digital media use, and discovered a number of constant findings even though the studies were separate both in geographically and chronologically. These constant findings, which we call design drivers, ...
Identifying the differences between stationary office support and mobile work support: a conceptual framework
The rapid development of mobile technologies provides great potential to support mobile work that was not supported by traditional stationary information systems. To realise this great potential, it is important for us to fully understand the nature of ...
Designing for totality of mobile and non-mobile interaction: a case study
CHI EA '07: CHI '07 Extended Abstracts on Human Factors in Computing SystemsThe focus of the project is to design for mobile needs of users to support activities that closely relate to non-mobile contexts. We selected the real estate industry for a case study and conducted an in-depth research to gain a deeper understanding of ...
