Psychological issues on visual attention while using head-up display

Published:02 November 2015Publication History

ABSTRACT

Head-up display (HUD) has a promising feature for an in-vehicle visual display device. By adopting HUD, drivers can see visual information presented on HUD without looking away from the traffic scene ahead. This feature is very desirable for an automobile visual display because it enables drivers to obtain visual information while simultaneously attending to traffic scene. However, there are some problems on driver's visual attention remain while using HUD. In this presentation, two issues on visual attention while using HUD are explained.
