Safety and efficacy of head-up display from a physiological optics standpoint

Published:02 November 2015Publication History

ABSTRACT

We performed two experiments using a prototype of the head-up display (HUD) by CyberNavi (Pioneer Corp., Japan). The HUD is expected to reduce traffic accidents, as it reduces the visual confirmation time by half, as compared with conventional navigation systems. We discuss the safety and efficacy of the HUD from a physiological optics standpoint.
