ABSTRACT

Several improvements to the estimation of partial derivatives in Algorithm 761 are presented. The problems corrected are (1) in the calculation of the probability weight in subroutine SDPD3P which may result in overflow, (2) in the calculation of final weight in subroutine SDPD3P which may result in overflow, (3) in the computation of a determinant in subroutine SDLEQN which is not necessary, and (4) in the computation of the condition number of a matrix in subroutine SDLEQN which generates very different results for matrices that differ only in row order.
