Distributed vs. centralized computing a regional college center at the crossroads

Published:16 November 1980Publication History

ABSTRACT

In this paper we will discuss some of the preliminaries that led up to the final drafting of a Request For Proposal (RFP) for a new system and a few of the pros and cons of distributed vs. centralized computing as they appeared to us. The creation of the RFP is nearly complete and we expect to be well into the decision-making process by November, hence this document must perforce be somewhat incomplete at this time.
