Development of an e-SCM system for auto-parts industries of a Korean commercial vehicle company

Published: 15 August 2005 Publication History

Abstract

This paper is a field application to develop an e-SCM system for operating a procurement supply chain of a commercial vehicle company. Two first vendors and two second vendors of the commercial vehicle company are included in the objects of the developed e-SCM system. We analyzed the information flow and business process between the paternal manufacturer and the 1st vendors, and between the 1st vendors and the 2nd vendors. We redesigned the business processes for making production schedule from order information and the procurement process of materials from the 2nd vendors. The 3 days schedule is made using the input sequence of the paternal manufacture and manufacturing specification report. The 3 days schedule is made and operated using rolling back concept. The VMI concept is adopted to control the inventory of materials in the 1st vendors. Some diagrams are given to describe workflow and business flow within the supply chain. The UML(Unified Modeling Language) approach is used to design the system. Some UML diagrams and To-Be model are given. The system is implemented in .net environment.
