Research on information integration management of reverse logistics

Published: 15 August 2005 Publication History

Abstract

Efficient reverse logistics (RL) system can transform an increasingly costly and complex returns management process into a competitive advantage. It can be used as an opportunity to reengineer the business processes to get a better picture of the future practices. To achieve core competence in the fierce competitive market, enterprises should focus more on their reverse logistics in supply chain. The author analyses the particularity of RL compared with forward logistics, and the causes of it. Also, the difficulties in reverse logistics is set forth. Finally, it is pointed out that information integration management is an important method for reverse supply chain participating enterprises to get overall competitive advantage.
