Input interactions and context component based modelisations: differences and similarities

Published: 23 May 2006 Publication History

Abstract

Since several years, ubiquitous computing and pervasive computing has emerged and, in particular, context-aware computing. Using mobile devices, the context is perpetually evolving, more than with standard workstation. In such environment, software must modify its behavior dynamically. An emerging way of programming an adaptive software is component programming. The focus of this paper is to review existing component approaches for input devices and for context especially those that consider component modeling. We aim at determining the similarities and differences between context and input devices in order to propose further a common component model architecture that will help building such intelligent applications.
